Epitath for Small Farms

A guest column by our Founding Farmer, Michael Broadhurst.   Our 30 acres bristle with life that changes with each season. Winter rains in coastal California encourage cool-season grasses. I...

Raised by Wolves

I was raised by intellectuals. The Great Books of the Western World my lone inheritance. Orange sap in the book spines, the remaining evidence of the Marlboro 100s, packed tight...

So, I bought a farm.

Some guys buy a Porsche 911 when they turn fifty, but we chose roots over routes. Stardust Grove began as text messages between friends sharing Trulia listings of California acreage we'd never heard of—a minor obsession that blossomed into thirty-two acres of regenerative farmland nestled in the Central Coast.

The Science of Companionship

Our regenerative approach isn't just philosophy—it's biology. Following UC Davis recommendations, we've created a living system where Hass avocado trees thrive alongside pollinator partners, and every decision honors the complex dance of minerals and microbes that Mr. Broadhurst (our 80-year-old farm mentor with a PhD in Molecular Biology) taught us to respect. Each fruit at Stardust Grove develops on a steady organic diet that builds resilience rather than dependence, because we believe agriculture should leave landscapes more alive, not less.

Family Rooted, Community Fueled

The land remembers the hands that tend it—from Jen's family who rode covered wagons from the Oklahoma Dust Bowl to California, to our partner Feliciano who helps us care for the orchard daily, to the faces we meet every Friday at the Cambria Farmer's Market. We're not just selling produce; we're continuing a lineage of care that flows from soil to community and back again. When you bite into our fruit, you're tasting purpose—the alternative to watching six hours of television between Alaskan cruises that keeps us feeling young, connected, and deeply alive.

Regenerative has never tasted this good.
